Asalaam Alaikum
Inna lillahi wa inna illayhi rajioon. ['Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return']
There are also so many conspiracy theories going around already. Some say he died years ago. Others say this news is to try to cause problems for Pakistan. Just don't know what to believe any more.
I saw this tweet being re-tweeted on Twitter and it pretty much sums up how I feel:
"I just can’t find it in me to be glad one more person is dead, even if it is Osama Bin Laden." - Harry Waizer, 9/11 survivor
I didn't support what Osama had done/was doing but I can not join in the celebrations of his death. It is a victory is it? It has taken 10 years and countless of deaths, muslims and non-muslims to find this one man. However the main reason I cannot celebrate is I am now worried about what his loyal supporters will do. As he was killed in Pakistan I fear for the country. Apparently the Taliban have threatened attacks against the Pakistan government. UK and USA are likely to be targets too.
I sincerely hope I am wrong.
There have also been reports that mosques have been graffitied and will muslims now stop being called terrorists? Unlikely.
Celebrate all you want. But this war against terror is far from over.
Salaam alaikum, I completely agree with you. Love that quote you posted..
ReplyDeleteAssalamualeikum dear sis.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad how people are so excited about such things. You are right, this fight isn't over and never will be until Allah swt wishes it. Let us make duah to Allah swt that he will protect our muslim brothers and sisters and all other innocent people.
-The Creative Muslimah
I agree with you. What we need to make sure now is not too stop the fight against terrorism, as is not the end of it and to make sure to protect civilizations in danger.
ReplyDeleteI pray too for muslims around the world to get their integrity back and to live their lives away from the word terrorism we associate wrongly to them.
Wa alaikum asalaam
ReplyDelete@Amal: Yes that quote is lovely coming from a 9/11 survivor
@Creative Muslimah: You are right, we all need to make dua inshAllah
@Marie: thank you for your support
Assalamu Aleykum dear sister,
ReplyDeleteI was away from the blogging world, and I'm back. That's why I'm soooo late on this post.I agree with you when you say there's nothing to celebrate when a man has been killed. My husband and in laws are in Abbottabad, and they've never expected the city would become so famous for a so unfortunate reason.Just like you, we don't really know what to think about the whole story.
