Save the Children – Syria

I am sure most, if not all of you, have heard about the massacres happening in Syria. The images coming out of Syria are sickening and my heart breaks when I see what is happening.
Save the Children have a petition running. Please take a moment to sign it here.
Here is the email sent by Save the Children:
How many more children must die before world powers unite to protect the innocent?

Another massacre in Syria has reportedly claimed the lives of 78 civilians, many of them children. This follows the slaughter of 59 children two weeks ago in the town of Houla.

We must use our outrage to push world leaders to act.

Please join our call for a UN Resolution to Protect Children.

Sign our petition now.

The resolution would increase the pressure to stop the killing. It would also give aid agencies like ours full access to the thousands of children inside Syria who need our help.

Almost 20,000 people have already signed, but we need many more of you to join us in our campaign to make sure children are protected.

Last night the UN Security Council’s peace envoy, Kofi Annan, admitted his peace plan was not working and more needs to be done to stop the violence.

Together we can ramp up the pressure on the Security Council to unite and act decisively to stop the killing and get help to children who desperately need it.

The children of Syria urgently need our help. Please add your voice to the calls for the world to do more.

So what are you waiting for? It takes less than a minute to sign the petition.

  • Such atrocities inflicted upon children is heart wrenching. News about Syria's worsening condition is always there in the newspaper. Reading it is very sad. I wonder where the world is going with all these inhumane acts.

I went to the website and signed the petition. It's the least I can do.

  • This situation is tragic and the word stands still, watching men, women and children being killed every day, for what?
