Day out: Gullivers in Milton Keynes

Day out: Gullivers in Milton Keynes

Since I was trying to make Eid special for the girls, the day after Eid we went on a day out to a theme park which isn't too far away from us: Gullivers in Milton Keynes.

I decided to drive my car which almost made Munchkin hysterical.

'Can you drive that far?!'

'Do you know the way?'

'Why can't we go in Dad's car?'

The way she was acting you would think I had never driven before. *sigh*

Anyway……..

After the initial fear of me driving, we had a lovely day out. Sadly Bee could not go on many rides as she wasn't allowed to sit in our laps but had to be able to sit alone next to us and I wasn't willing to risk that just yet. We did sit her on one ride and she was trying to grip the side as if her life depended on it; even though it wasn't a fast ride at all!

There is a wide range of food available, however as in most theme parks, I felt it was overpriced. If we ever go again I will take a picnic as I felt the food wasn't worth the price – we got some fish and chips.

Gullivers really is more for the younger children. There are different sections to the park but they aren't too far apart, so little legs shouldn't get too tired too quickly and there aren't many big thrill seeking rides so teenagers may not enjoy it as much. However Munchkin loved it and I am sure Bee will love it once she is older.

The other criticism I have is that some of the rides did look a bit old and battered. However, a lick of paint would solve that problem.

  • Sounds like a great treat day and really remeinds me of Crealy near us. The driving bit did make me laugh, funny how kids react to some things! Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids.

  • Thank you for this, will be one to avoid for us then, my boys range so much in age and are real thrill seekers. Hope you had a great day. Well done on getting over your fear to drive there – I know exactly how you feel on that one.

  • Can you share with us a video of that day? It looks so funny and interesting day for you all. I am impressed totally. Anyway, great sharing and waiting for the next one.
