Review: Toddlebike

We were sent the Toddlebike to test out a few months ago but due to building work and illness and all sorts we didn’t manage to take Bee out with it to test it until this weekend. But during this time she was whizzing around with it indoors; that is the beauty of it, it is small and light and I was quite happy for her to ride it around indoors. As it is so lightweight, Bee can easily pick it up and move it herself if she needs to.

So those of you who have not heard of the Toddlebike are probably now wondering what on earth a Toddlebike is!

The Toddlebike is a pre-balance bike, aimed at toddlers who can walk confidently.

The Toddlebike refers to itself as a strong, sturdy indoor/outdoor bike with the following specifics:

*18 – 36 months or when confidently walking
*Lightweight – less than 1kg
*Metal axels
*Waterproof, durable and sturdy
*Developmental toy
*3 year guarantee
*Ideal indoor or outdoor
*Manufactured in Europe

I had been thinking about getting a bike for Bee over the summer and I was getting confused about whether to get her a balance bike or one with pedals and stabilisers. I just wasn’t sure she was ready for a ‘big girls’ bike so when I heard of the Toddlebike it sounded, and looked, ideal. It was just perfect as a starter bike!

The Toddlebike arrived in one piece so I didn’t have to put any of it together. And as soon as it was out of the box Bee jumped straight on it and got the hang of it immediately! She rode it round the living room and the kitchen.

I personally love the fact that it is so lightweight. If Bee gets tired of riding it, it is easy to pick up, carry and walk around with. I am even getting tempted to take it with us on our holidays in March as she hates her pushchair/stroller now and won’t sit in it.

Bee loved riding it in the park. Usually when we get to the park she runs off with me huffing and puffing behind her trying to catch her. But this weekend she rode her Toddlebike alongside us and we had a nice leisurely stroll for once instead of us screaming at each other ‘Quick, grab her, shes running off again!!!’

Available in three different colours; primary, pink and neon, the Toddlebike makes an ideal present for toddlers.

So, reasons to love the Toddlebike:

  • It is lightweight
  • Small, so easily fits in the car boot or even on the back seat if you have space
  • Bright colours making it attractive to toddlers
  • Able to ride it both indoors and outdoors
  • Easy to clean
  • Reasonably priced at £23.95 direct from the Toddlebike shop

I can see us getting a lot more use out of the bike over the coming months and especially in the summer months.

Roll on summer!

Looks brilliant! I love how light it is – when Boo was younger, it struck me just how heavy some ride-ons were and I use to think how does that work when they’re so little!
