Menu

Lakeside also serves light meals like sandwiches, wraps and salads, including their new quinoa and grilled salmon salad – a refreshing dish that should prove the perfect tonic for the summer heat. Lakeside’s kids menu has plenty of options – all for under a fiver. Dishes include pizza, pasta penne and sausage and chips.

Desserts are something of a speciality of Lakeside’s, with the café offering a range of delicious homemade cakes, as well as teas, coffees and hot chocolate.

Lakeside Kitchen & Bar is committed to sourcing its produce locally, this helps to ensure that the food served there is as fresh as possible. Moreover, it’s a factor that allows the café to help support the local community.

If you fancy heading down to visit to the café, Lakeside is open from 8 am till 6 pm on weekdays and until 7 pm at weekends. The address is Lakeside Kitchen & Bar, Ferry Meadows, Nene Park, Ham Lane, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE2 5UU.

Activities

Located in the heart of beautiful Ferry Meadows, Lakeside Kitchen & Bar is surrounded by nature and wildlife. The café overlooks Gunwade Lake, providing plenty of spectacular sights, as well as entertainment if you feel like taking to the water. Lakeside is situated right next to Nene Outdoors water sports centre, where you can hire pedaloes, canoes and even windsurfing boards if you’re feeling adventurous.

Just a couple of minutes’ walk away from the lake is Ferry Meadows’ famous miniature railway. The fully functioning steam powered engines that run on the track are not only a lot of fun but probably more reliable than real trains! A full timetable can be found here.

And just a little further afield, although still within Ferry Meadows, is Badger Play Area. Located along Overton Lake, this feature filled play park has plenty to keep the kids occupied (as well as particularly flexible adults) with slides, tunnels, climbing trees and more.
