Our favourite Islamic Childrens Books of 2017 – Top Ten

Following on from our post last year where we shared our favourite Islamic Childrens books of 2016, we decided to share some of our favourites of 2017.

My girls both love reading (in Bee’s case listening to stories while she learns to read) and books are one thing I am happy to have lots of. And I do try to find good books with an Islamic ethos. Alhamdulillah so many Islamic books for children are now coming out and you have a vast choice.

Here are just some of our favourites. Please note this post may contain affiliate links and some books mentioned may be books we were initially sent for review. However they are only in the list as we genuinely like them!

  • I want to read all of Zainab Mian’s books. we love our Migo and Ali. And Ive heard such good things about The Khadija book. It will fall into my hands one day Inshallah.

  • Alhumdollilah it is such a pleasure to see so many islamic books for kids out there now. When my older neph and nieces were young we could never find anything Islamic apart from a few odd books. I got Migo and Ali for my young niece who is 4 and her dad’s been reading to it. Alhumdollilah she enjoys it a lot!

  • We have got some of these books at home too, and we have got some others from our library. Learning Roots’ Khadijah looks empowering. Insha Allah hope we get them here.
    Jazakillahu khairan for sharing 🙂

  • This is so so so so so so so so so so so COOL! I can’t believe I have never picked up one single Islamic book for children – to find out there are a range of books out there for children is AMAZING! I want a whole bookshelf of books for my children when I get to that stage In sha Allah!

  • Oh Masha’Allah is that your reading collection? I love reading with the kids, I didn’t realise how much I missed it until I moved to Algeria and had zero books and only a “maktaba” (stationary shop with a few colouring books and comics) passing off as a library I took every advantage I could whenever I came back to London to stock up on books and often visited Regents Park mosque specifically to find some Islamic kids books, we have the Learning Roots books on the prophets and some lovely stories of princess with Islamic morals …. this is a good list of books, I’m jotting them down so i can find them on my next trip insha’Allah

  • I like looking at your list of books because it tells me what books I can expect at the bookstores in the future. I’m in Australia so if I want to get my hands on a physical book then I’d have to wait until it reaches my shores!

  • My First Book About The Quran is also a favourite for us. Hadith for Kids and Migo and Ali look really good too! Those are ones I want to buy for the kids as well.

  • Great recommendations. I plan on getting My illustrated Quran for my kids. I also bought another book for my kids which they love “Golden Supplications for Children”. Would recommend parents to buy that book too.
