Happy New Year all!
So I am back with the photo a day! I did debate whether to stop…..but after so many years it has become a bit of a habit and I think I would have felt a bit lost not doing it.
So here goes!
Monday 1st January
It was dad’s 78th birthday. We don’t celebrate birthdays in a big way but generally get cake. His birthdays are extra special now considering he was so ill and we almost lost him last year. He still is ill but more stable. Hoping he remains stable throughout the year….the liver hasn’t worsened in the last 6 months and hopefully it won’t any time soon.

Tuesday 2nd January
Finally got out these holidays (been ill with a cold so haven’t done much). Went to London to meet with hubby’s friend and his wife, and also went to the Pakistani Embassy to sort out the eldest’s ID card which had expired. It allows us to travel to Pakistan visa free. An early start led to seeing this beautiful sunrise!

Wednesday 3rd January
Had ordered a new bed for Bee which had arrived yesterday. It’s a mid sleeper cabin bed with a desk, bookcase and chest of drawers……lots of parts! Was a bit daunting but started putting it together. Rosie of course had to get into everything. Then back to karate today for Bee after the holidays.

Thursday 4th January
Back to school for both girls and I carried on with the bed making from yesterday. By now hands and back were aching! And the mattress had gone missing somewhere along the line. They sent out a new one today so although I finished the bed, an excited Bee couldn’t sleep in it until the mattress arrived!

Friday 5th January
A day of doing absolutely nothing…well except for taking dad to see the diabetic nurse. His sugars are all over the place and they are trying to control them. Couldn’t be bothered to cook so it was pizza for the girls in the evening! Bee’s mattress arrived so she finally got to sleep in her new bed. She was so excited. I sold her toddler bed frame and felt a bit emotional as that had been the eldest’s bed too when she was a toddler.

Saturday 6th January
Spent the morning putting all of Bee’s toys back into her room and trying to declutter as well as she has too much stuff. Also it was the parents 49th wedding anniversary so of course had to have cake!
happy birthday to your dad and anniversary to your parents, gorgeous cakes. hope your visit to the embassy was smooth, ours never are, lovely photo of the sky
Some lovely cakes. Happy Birthday to your dad and I hope they had a lovely anniversary too. The cabin bed is looking good.

Oh wow both of those cakes look amazing. I’m so glad to hear that your Dad is more stable, I hope that continues in 2018. Love the look of Bee’s new bed #365
The new bed looks fantastic! Well done on putting it up, that must have been a huge job. So glad your dad is still around to celebrate his birthday and his wedding anniversary. 49 years is a long time!

Your week looks like mine, lots of celebrating. Happy birthday to your dad & happy anniversary to your parents. We built a similar bed for my little girl just before Christmas. Hard work but worth it x #365
Wow well done building the bed! I think I would have lost patience trying to do that. I can’t decide which cake looks best, they both look divine! I’m looking forward to reading your Project 365 posts every week.

wow a birthday and anniversary in one week. No wonder his sugars are off with both of them, but no fun in being to strict as life then becomes dull.
The bed and the room look brilliant, well done to you.
It’s been a good cake week in your house, they both look so good and I just love that bed. I always wanted something like that when I was younger!
I don’t know which of those cakes are more amazing! Both look totally gorgeous, the bottom one looks very moist and scrummy. Love that photo of your little cat, so cute.
What a fab set of pics to start the year! I love the purples in the sky: great capture! #project365
Two cakes in a week hope you all enjoyed your dad’s birthday and celebrating their wedding anniversary, that bed looks great. I got emotional when I took down our toddler bed as all seven of them had used it.
