Day 189 – Sunday 7th July
After spending all day at karate yesterday with Bee, it was a relaxed day today with just the eldest going to her horse riding lesson. Bee as usual gave the horses some polos.
Day 190 – Monday 8th July
Didn’t really do much today. A bit of cooking and cleaning. Bee had made cornflake tart today at her after school club. It was her final session so she brought home all the recipes too.
Day 191 – Tuesday 9th July
Went to kickboxing in the morning and found it hard after missing it for 2 weeks. Haven’t been sleeping well and had a sore throat….and didn’t feel well during the warm up and had to stop and get my breath back. I thought I may have to give up but ended up managing the rest of the class. Then when Bee was at her Quran class, myself and the eldest went to B&Q to get some paint and other supplies as I have the decorating bug.
Day 192 – Wednesday 10th July
Another day of not really doing much again. Had a school governor meeting in the morning. Later had a wander around the garden to check for bugs etc on the flowers and noticed the hydrangea is finally getting full of colour.
Day 193 – Thursday 11th July
It was Bee’s sports day this morning and thankfully the rain that was forecast disappeared. Hubby for once also came along for part of it and Bee was pleased to see him as he often doesn’t manage to go to events at school. I love the way they do their sports day as its not which child comes first, second or third in each activity but team work. The school is split into 4 groups and they all have to collect as many points as they can together in each activity which is put toward their total. Then afterwards myself and hubby went out to lunch as we haven’t done that for a while.
Then karate in the evening for Bee. After chatting to another parent there, we signed up to the London Bridge Challenge with Diabetes UK. It involves walking 10 miles in London in September crossing 12 bridges. Have signed up the eldest too….and I would love it if any of you could support me and sponsor me…every little helps! Am a bit nervous as I usually just drive everywhere so 10 miles will be tough I think. You can sponsor me here.
Day 194 – Friday 12th July
A relaxed day. Got a new post in my Muslim Mums in Business series published featuring Nurturing Learners. In the evening while the eldest was at her Islamic Studies class myself and Bee stopped at the supermarket to get some treats to share at karate tomorrow and also treated ourselves to some flowers.
Day 195 – Saturday 13th July
Karate as usual in the morning and then decided to take the girls to the local garden centre which were holding a ‘summer party’. It turns out it was just in one small corner and was just a small barbecue…a tombolo, some glitter face paint, cupcakes and drinks. Bee got some glitter face paint done and eldest had a cupcake…and then we ended over the art section where they were painting some pot plants for £5. Bee painted one and then we had to buy a plant to put in it too.
Aww! I bet the horses are keen to see Bee coming with her polos. hehehe
Ahh! I love Cornflake tart. It reminds me of school dinners.
It sounds like a fun sports day! I’m glad your husband could get there to watch.
Good luck with the London Bridge Challenge!

Thank you! Bit nervous about the challenge but looking forward to it!
Good luck with your charity walk! Sorry to hear you weren’t feeling too good at kick boxing. Hope you’re feeling more yourself again next week. Our hydrangea is looking very similar to yours. Hopefully it will be in full bloom very soon.

Thank you! Looking forward to the challenge!
Sports day sounded nice with your husband attending with you, I don’t think with any of the 4 boys we were both able to attend many events over the years together. The flowers are lovely and bright and the type I would pick also, Bee has good taste
Yes it was nice that he could actually come for once
I used to love horse riding as a child. Such beautiful creatures. Love the colours of those flowers too x
I always wanted to go horse riding as a child but was never allowed to
aaahh the old con of we charge you to paint and then charge you more for a plant to add, parents are soft touches for these things and they know it./
That sounds like a good way to do sports day and nice for Bee that her dad was there.
love the colour of the paint
I stupidly didn’t read it right and thought the plant was included!
That is a beautiful horse, I would really like to take mine horse riding but Monkey is allergic. Love the bright colour of the flowers. Well done for signing up to the challenge and its great your eldest is taking part too.
