Peterborough STEM Festival is back for another year

We have recently been delving into the world of STEM toys on the blog and reviewed a couple of things that the girls loved. This includes:

Clemantoni MIND Designer Robot

OKIDO Which Way Game

Botley The Coding Robot

Receiving those products for review showed me that things like this do interest Bee, so we have decided to attend the Peterborough STEM festival this year. We had heard about it last year but unfortunately we were busy on the day and couldn’t attend….this year although we are busy with Bee’s karate we have decided to make the effort to get to the festival.

What is Peterborough STEM Festival?

Founded by the organisers of Digital People in Peterborough, Peterborough STEM Festival showcases and celebrates the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through a number of free to attend events and fun activities throughout the year.

The event is aimed at 5-18 year olds and will be held at KingsGate Conference Centre and the event starts at 10:30 and last admission is at 3:30.

The festival is to inspire and encourage young people to explore STEM subjects: Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. One of the aims of the festival is to encourage more girls and young women to consider careers in STEM subjects.

What can you expect at the festival?

There will be a number of inspirational activities including coding workshops, interactive science experiments, engineering and technology demonstrations. In addition to this there will be inspirational talks and presentations from professionals working in STEM.

Come along and send code to the International Space Station, check out resuscitation demonstrations, a hydraulic wave machine and so much more!

The event is free so why not come along and explore STEM? Please note that although the event is free you must still book a ticket. To find out more about how you can get involved and for more information visit www.peterboroughstemfestival.co.uk or email team@peterboroughstemfestival.co.uk.
