Review: Two Pigeons on a Pilgrimage – A Hajj Story

I was looking to see if there were any new hajj related books and came across Two Pigeons on a Pilgrimage on Amazon. It looked cute so we ordered it.

Two determined pigeons are ready to face a test. With a ‘Bismillah’ they spread their wings, and leave behind their nest.

Two Pigeons on a Pilgrimage is a cute story for ages 3+ of two pigeons who leave their nest to go on a journey. They follow the pilgrims from the airport on their journey to complete the hajj.

The picture book is a faceless edition so the pigeons and the pilgrims shown have no eyes, nose or mouth.

Through the Pigeons journey, you are taught about all aspects of the hajj, including circling the Ka’bah, staying in tents at in Mina, and throwing stones at Shaitan.

What is useful is that the book isn’t just a story book but has some activities at the back to help the reader learn about hajj. A hajj diagram along with some hajj facts help educate the reader further.

Simply but beautifully illustrated this book is perfect to have in your book collection about hajj. Furthermore a proportion of process will be donated to Ummah Welfare Trust towards the building and maintenance of a girl’s hostel for potential victims of exploitation in The Sundarbans area of West Bengal.

If you looking to purchase the book please take a look in your local Islamic shops, online or via Amazon (affiliate link).
