Organise Your Hair Accessories with The Hair Helper

If your house is anything like mine then you are sure to have a hair bobble monster that gobbles up all the hair bobbles lying around. I swear this monster is worse then the sock monster as we lose more hair bobbles than we do socks. But this ingenious idea helps keep them all in

I’d forgotten how hard fasting with toddlers can I’d forgotten how hard fasting with toddlers can be.

When you just want to rest a bit but have to deal with toddler meltdowns.

When you just want to open the Quran but have a toddler that wants every book she sees (thankfully these days you have decent Quran apps!)

When you want to sleep in the limited time you have but the toddler has other ideas.

When it’s time for Iftaar and the toddler is still awake so you can’t eat in peace.

But Alhamdulillah. Even looking after the toddler gains you rewards.

Hope everyone’s #Ramadan is going well in sha Allah
A long morning today #Peterborough series. (Especi A long morning today #Peterborough series. (Especially with a toddler too!)

But she did well. Came 2nd. Lost out on 1st by just 1 point…was a good fight.

My priority is to read the Quran in #ramadan and t My priority is to read the Quran in #ramadan and that’s why I’ve not made a list of ‘Ramadan’ books to read. Because I knew I wouldn’t and it would just be a show for social media.

I know I’m not going to be able to read them, especially with a toddler who seems to have now dropped all naps. But I did end up purchasing a couple of books.

Ramadan: A Dua a Day was one I spotted in @sarahijaved (I think) reel and I thought it would be handy to remind me to make dua.

I’ll admit, I struggle to make dua and ask for anything. My mum never encouraged us to make dua, well not that I can remember. It was basically a rush to read the Quran at a young age and then nothing really. And I still find it hard to connect with Allah, pray and make dua 🤷🏽‍♀️ I often just feel empty. I thought this may prompt me to make a dua a day…and it’s good for kids too.

The other book I’ve seen mentioned so much on social media, that I just jumped on the bandwagon I guess. Will see if I manage to actually open it and read it.

Nap times. The time when you can get things done Nap times.

The time when you can get things done. But my older two girls dropped their naps early and I think this one is too!

The last 3 days she had refused to nap even while she wasn’t feeling well….and then got grumpy come 5pm.

I didn’t need this in Ramadan as my plan had been to read Quran peacefully while she napped.

Praying that this is a blip and she will nap again. 🤲

When did your kids stop napping?
I’m one of those parents that won’t let my 10 I’m one of those parents that won’t let my 10 year old fast on a school day.

I have had people tell me I should let her if she wants to but she isn’t obliged to fast just yet. And it’s not that she wants to do it for the sake of Allah (swt), it’s because her friends are.

The fasts are long, she’s a growing girl and until she HAS to fast she won’t be on a school day. With the Easter holidays coming up she can do it then. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Am I the only one that won’t let their child fast on a school day if they don’t have to?
I’ve not really decorated this year. The older t I’ve not really decorated this year. The older two girls aren’t bothered…and I can’t decorate the fireplace as I usually do as Minu would go for everything.

But I did a last minute purchase of this @indulgewithlancsco countdown to Eid box. Which thankfully arrived today!

It has a chocolate each in each box for the older two..and can be refilled each year. There’s space for some small toys if you wanted to add some and can also add a good deed a day card.

It also comes with some crayons to colour in the side of the box. Perfect for the little ones.

Something we will be using each year now in sha Allah.

Ramadan Mubarak to you all. Have a blessed one and keep the ummah in your prayers.

AD gifted The moon is such an important part of AD gifted

The moon is such an important part of Islam, including telling us the start of each month, so it’s no wonder it is the focus of @ummabdillahpublishing next book.

‘The Moon’ is a lyrical book about the moon: ‘’Embark of an imaginative journey to explore a glimpse of a marvellous beauty Allah has created for us!’’

For ages 2-7, this is a vibrant, colourful book to engage the children. The fact it is lyrical makes it a soothing read aloud, although I did feel like some pages weren’t overly lyrical.

Each page is fully illustrated with each character being faceless.

What I particularly liked about it is that there are fun facts and research activities added at the end. Also a moon phases calendar and an exercise for parents to contemplate on Quran verse which mention the moon.

A lovely addition to anyones book shelf.

So we decided to have a go at our own chocolate co So we decided to have a go at our own chocolate covered dates using the dates I got from @thedateproject

Kept it simple as it’s our first go! Filled them with Nutella/peanut butter and an almond each.

And then covered with @cadburyuk Dairy Milk. And finally Bee sprinkled on some coconut/sprinkles.

Don’t think we did too bad really!

Do you make them? What’s your favourite filling/topping? Need some inspiration for the next time we make them 🙊

She’s a very affectionate cat once she starts tr She’s a very affectionate cat once she starts trusting you.

My hubby has started sleeping downstairs as his hay fever has started kicking in..and he doesn’t want to disturb Minu’s sleep….so that then means the cat jumps on the bed at night…miaows in my face….checks out Minu in her cot…and basically disturbs everyone’s sleep anyway 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🙊 I ended up having to lock her in the conservatory last night so I could get a decent nights sleep. I don’t want her sniffing my face at 3am and trying to get me to play with her 🤦🏽‍♀️

After her initial adventure outside she now seems timid about going out. She still hasn’t figured out that she has access to a cat flap allowing her to go in and out as she pleases. I had to go out in the garden today to get her to follow me out, but she only lasted a couple of minutes before she was back in the house 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ I want her to explore the garden and tire herself out so she’s not as active at night. But she’s content in the house 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Any recommendations for cat toys to keep her busy and stimulated??
Ramadan is almost upon us and it’s that time of Ramadan is almost upon us and it’s that time of year where people are sharing their Ramadan baskets for their kids and themselves.

Me: I’ve done nothing.

The older kids are old enough to entertain themselves and Minu is too young. I’ll just get out the Ramadan books we have for Bee if she wants to read them and I got the @mydeen_magazine for her. But other than that, I refused to spend any more money.

And for myself I wasn’t going to bother. Realistically I have a bookshelf full of books I keep meaning to read but never get round to…so no point in doing a ‘what am I Reading this Ramadan’ post. It’s not going to happen with a toddler who wants to grab any book I’ve opened. Realistically any time reading will be the Quran when she’s napping.

But then I got tempted by the sale at @kubepublishing and got a few things that I’ve been looking at and decided to treat myself. An early Eid gift to myself as no one else gets me a gift 😂

Whether I actually read them this Ramadan is a different matter though.

Have you got any books you are planning to read this Ramadan?

We don’t really do Mother’s Day. I usually get We don’t really do Mother’s Day. I usually get my mum a cake or something simply because otherwise she complains no one cares…but then on the other hand says it’s a waste of money and with that money we could have made kebabs or something 🙄🤷🏽‍♀️

But the girls dad never bothers and there’s always that debate online as to whether Islamically we should be celebrating it 🤷🏽‍♀️ but it’s nice to do some crafts at toddler group and feel a bit appreciated 😂

Love that Claire was doing the kids feet as butterflies…Minu wasn’t sure what was going on when the paint went on her feet 😂
