Eid preparations!

Asalaam Alaikum/Hi all
Well seeing as we are celebrating Eid tomorrow it gave us an extra day to get ready!
We managed to get our Henna done, I picked up the cupcakes (finding it so hard not to eat one today!) and started some of the food prep too.
I decided that this year I wanted to make more of an effort for munchkin so I got some Eid banners and balloons. She is so excited mashAllah and said she wants to stay at my mums house tonight with her cousin. This will be the first ever night I will have spent away from her and I am not looking forward to it.
I usually find Eid quite boring if I am honest. As a family we usually get together most weekends anyway so it doesn’t feel overly special. I really want to celebrate Eid abroad as the atmosphere will be completely different. The rest of the family are there, aunts, cousins etc and it can feel lonely here at times. I was planning to go to Pakistan this Eid but my father in law stopped us as he said it was too hot. InshAllah we will be celebrating the next Eid there in November.
Anyway here are some pictures! Enjoy! I will try to post pictures of the food tomorrow!! šŸ˜€

  • Whattay cupcake! Oh how I wish I could also be in Pakistan right now. The mood is festive, as I've heard. šŸ˜€

  • I know what you mean about not finding Eid celebration all that exciting. I try to do the decorating etc for the kids, and hubby, but we don't have family so it's not a great deal.

I guess we have the same/different problem.

Looks like you were well prepared. Hope you had a blessed Eid.

  • Eid Mubarak

I hope you had a great day. I understand how you feel, I guess celebrating Eid in a Muslim or a Majority Muslim country would probably make the day feel more special.

Unfortunately that's not something I had the pleasure of feeling in my life time and Insha' Allah like yourself I hope to do so next year.

  • Happy Eid to you and your family Foz! I know how you feel and that things would be different if you were in Pakistan, but you look well organised and I am sure you'll have a lovely day.
The cupcakes are so cute by the way! Take care. xx

  • Awh, looks like you put a great deal of effort into it.
THe cakes look OH-SO-YUMMMMMY, but that may be because I have a soft spot for cake as you may remember :P.

Hope you had a great day!
