When I was pregnant, I downloaded every pregnancy and birth app available for my iPhone Some of them helped get me organised, and because there was a 6 year gap between my children, I felt like I had forgotten everything and needed all the help I could get.
Aptaclub UK, a service that supports mums and mums-to-be from pregnancy right through to toddlerhood, have recently released a new app called Preparing for Birth.
This can be downloaded for free from the iTunes app store. It is designed to support mums to be in their final trimester. It also helps prepares for labour and birth by including things such as a contraction timer and also a ‘my baby announcer’ which allows you to add a picture of your newborn and send announcements.
In addition to the contraction timers and birth announcer, the app also features 6 editable checklists to help stay organised and also tips and practical advice to prepare for labour and birth.
I downloaded the app and had a play around once I put in a fake due date. What I liked about the app is that you also have access to expert advice, day or night either by telephone or live chat. So if you are worried about anything, there is someone there to chat to you to give you the advice you need.

It wasn't until I was actually in labour that I realised how fab an app that times your contractions could be! I mocked them leading up to my labour but as soon as I started contracting I wanted to be in control – I needed to be the one timing them and this was the easiest, best way of doing it!
Looks like a really interesting app.
