Little Adventures Challenge with Barney

We were recently offered a chance to test out Barney, 'a delicious new bear- shaped sponge snack with a hidden centre providing a little discovery in every bite'.

The Barney bears were a big hit in the house, both Bee and Munchkin enjoyed them, which is saying something as Munchkin is pretty fussy. She likes having them in her lunchbox now and then. Her school does have a healthy policy but sometimes a treat is OK, and Barney bears contain no artificial colours or preservatives.

What we also love about them is that the boxes have a puzzle on the back of them, and the bears are individually wrapped and have a cardboard tray, ideal for putting into lunchboxes. They come in two flavours, Chocolate and Milk; our favourite has to be chocolate!

As part of testing out Barney, we had to go on a little adventure. We decided to go to the local park and see what we could find and have a bit of fun on the rides.

We loved walking under these trees!

The park has gorgeous flower displays in the summer. Although it is October they are still looking good.

And we just had to attempt to climb the tree.

A few days after we had been to the park, we were excited to learn that we were one of the 50 lucky bloggers that had been chosen to receive a Barney Discovery Hamper as part of the Britmums Linky Challenge. It contained a bug barn with a book about bugs. Munchkin was so pleased to get one, as she loves reading about bugs (but not necessarily seeing them).

We decided to explore the garden and see what we could find. But Munchkin is abit scared of bugs so wasn't very adventurous! We still found a few things.

It is surprising how many spider webs there are throughout our garden! *shivers*

Here's one of the smaller spiders we were brave enough to take a picture of.

And finally, I just have to share one of the gorgeous roses that is still flowering in the garden.

  • What great outdoor adventures with lots of fun in the park and climbing trees! The discovery hamper is great, it encourages children to get outdoors and explore bugs and insects – I can see the girls had lots of fun doing this. Thanks for linking up and sharing your outdoor fun with Country Kids.
