Day 329– Sunday 24th November
We had been invited to a family press day at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park by Zippos’s circus. Hubby couldn’t make it so I decided to take the girls on the train…was a bit of an adventure. Had a really good day.

Day 330– Monday 25th November
A morning of cooking and general tidying up…and then caught up with some of my TV series. Only really took a picture of a snack I made the girls. I used to love this as a child… they are called Far Far and are a snack made of potato starch and tinted sago. They puff up when deep fried.

Day 331– Tuesday 26th November
Hubby had today off work but I had school governor meetings all morning so he went off and did the food shopping and then just relaxed. In the evening he treated us all to dessert. Bee asked for a crepe.

Day 332– Wednesday 27th November
At school first thing in the morning to help start preparations for the school fayre. We wrapped presents that Santa would be giving to the kids and also the lucky dip presents. I don’t think I have ever wrapped that many presents before in my whole life to date!
My certificate for my London Bridges Challenge for Diabetes UK also arrived. Am hoping to do it again next year.

Day 333– Thursday 28th November
A quiet morning trying to do some blog work and then in the afternoon went to the school to read with the kids. Only ended up being there for about 40 minutes as they then had to practice their songs for the school nativity in a few weeks.
After school treated the girls to cake and custard before karate and the eldest’s Islamic Studies…..although the eldest didn’t want any.

Day 334– Friday 29th November
The day of the school Christmas Fayre. I had agreed to go in the morning to help out with last minute things and also again in the afternoon to help set up. When we went in the morning there did not seem to be a lot of cakes for the cake stall so some of us agreed to bake. I decided to make as many cookies as I could in 2 hours. They came out OK but ended up a bit harder then I was hoping…but for 2 for 50p they were still a bargain.

Day 335– Saturday 30th November
So cold and foggy this morning and didn’t want to go out. But off to karate we went. Had to have a word with Bee before we went. Recently she has been messing around a lot and not focusing as she should…she has been treating is as more of a jolly and catching up with her friends. And then taking forever to get ready so we can come home..I have to keep repeating myself to tell her to get ready. The place is cold for the parents and I literally come home with frozen feet in winter so want to get out ASAP. So I warned her I would not stand for that behaviour anymore and it is because of her lack of focus it is likely she hasn’t been selected for belt testing next week. If she can’t focus then I will stop her going as it’s wasting my time and hers.
I think my pep talk did the trick as she came out with star of the class.

It sounds like a great day at Winter Wonderland.
The snack you made for your girls looks really tasty.
Ahh! I don’t miss helping with the PTA at my girls school at Christmas. It was always so stressful.
It was freezing this morning. I don’t think the frost we had here actually cleared.
Well done Bee. It sounds like the words you had worked. x

This will probably be the last year I help this much as she will be changing school in September
It sounds like a busy week with the school. I’m impressed that you could make that many cookies in such a short space of time. Glad to hear Bee was star of the class at karate and your little chat worked.

I was quite impressed too seeing as I am not actually a fan of baking!
How many times did Bee spot you at school this week? Aw! Kids get complacent and it isn’t fair for you to freeze off all morning on a Saturday in the cold! Can they put some heaters near the parents to keep them warm?

I actually managed to escape her. I did spot her from a distance but she had her back to me! I think it is hard for them to warm up the place as it will then get too hot for the ones working out. I did spot a very small heater this week but unless you are next to it it isn’t going to help.
Ooh cake and custard. A fab dessert choice! Glad Bee was better at karate. It seems to be a girl thing at tennis, they’re the ones that muck around, the boys are much more focused.
The simplest desserts are the best!
hope the lecture works, seems a waste of money if she is just messing and not learning.but well done to star of class,
nice of hubby to treat you to a pudding.
how nice of you to go home and bake biscuits
She seems to have taken it on board
food looks yummy, but sadly I can no longer eat most of my favourite things. Well done Bee on star of the class
Thank you!
I have never heard of Far Far, but it looks like a snack my boys would also enjoy. The crepe looks delicious. Big well done for finishing a London Bridges challenge. And well done, Bee! Your pep talk worked.
Kids generally love those snacks!
The crepes look so good, but I’d leave the cake as I don’t like custard. I can imagine that it must feel like a conveyor belt when wrapping for school #365
It certainly felt like a conveyor belt!!
Winter Wonderland looks exciting! I used to eat that snack too when I was little, fascinated by its shape and colour. That does sound like alot of present wrapping. The crepe looks delicious! Congrats on getting the certificate and raising money for Diabetes UK! Baking issues tend to happen. I can relate.
That’s a strong pep talk
It was pretty exciting!
Well done Bee for getting the star of the week! Looks like you were busy with food this week. 50p for two is a bargain. I am sure Winter Wonderland was a lot of fun?
