The Importance of Getting an Islamic Will Made

It is a given that at some point we are all going to die. It may not be something we think about or even want to think about, but there is no hiding from it. However there is one thing that a lot of us either just don’t consider, or keep putting off as we

One minute she was fine and the next she hit a tem One minute she was fine and the next she hit a temp of over 39 and vomiting during the night.

One minute I’m Ok apart from a slight cough lingering from my last cold… and then I suddenly get a temperature and 3 days later am still ill with a worse throat.

But Alhamdulillah we can access medication and help, unlike those who are currently being tried to be wiped out 🇵🇸

Thankfully we got sick AFTER we met @sarahijaved. I would have been gutted if I had missed that opportunity.

It’s always strange meeting someone you have chatted to online for years, there’s always that thought at the back of your mind that are they who they say they are, and are they like the personality they show online?

I can safely say that @sarahijaved is as lovely in real life as she is online. I felt so comfortable in her presence. Minu absolutely loved her and managed to drag her into the soft play too! 🙊 I hope we get to meet up again in the future sis!

Every time I think of deactivating Instagram I’m reminded of some of the genuine people on here who make it worth staying.
Gifted We were invited to attend the Winter Festi Gifted

We were invited to attend the Winter Festival at @neneparkpboro which is running from 1st December to 24th December with 3 sessions starting from 4pm.

For £9.50 per person (under 3’s go free) you can see The Snowman in the travelling cinema, and walk through the Willow Light Trail. You can purchase some marshmallows to toast on an open fire but sadly they weren’t halal so we couldn’t give it a try. But we did manage to catch the performance by @espa_arts at the end of the light trail.

If it’s been raining it would be best to go in boots/wellies as some areas are likely to get muddy.

Other costs:

The teacup ride was £3 per person and hook a duck was £4.

There are a couple of food stalls available from @lakesidekitchenandbar. Bee wanted churros which were £5 for 3 but cost £6 with chocolate sauce.

Ad gifted We recently received Playskool Glo Fri Ad gifted

We recently received Playskool Glo Friends Hugbug & Harmony and Minu loves them.

Hugbug glows while Harmony the swan is full of tactile sensations for your child to fiddle and play with.

Sensory play is so important and you can get some sensory play due to the glow and the fiddle features on the swan (the tail feathers move up and down along with the head).

Glo Friends introduce little ones to Social and Emotional Learning and the SEL elements of Hugbug and Harmony involve self-efficacy, stress management, impulse control, self motivation, communication, relationship building , and other life long skills.

Glo Friends are so cute and we can’t wait to add more toys from the collection!

I’ve still been struggling to bond with Minnie. I’ve still been struggling to bond with Minnie. I don’t get to spend much time with her as she’s scared of Minu and hides away. But recently Minu has been going to bed earlier…and Minnie has crept into the room too and lay down next to us. And it reminded me of how Rosie would always curl up to me. We are slowly getting there.

But she definitely has a closer bond to the older two girls.

And talking about the older two girls…I can’t believe I’ve just had to apply for secondary school for Bee and the eldest has already put in her uni applications with some offers and rejections already coming through.

I’ve been making dua recently about her uni application’s. But my dua hasn’t been to ‘please get her into the top uni’s’ but for her to receive offers from the uni’s that are right and beneficial for her.

Life is going on. Whether people care to admit it Life is going on. Whether people care to admit it or not. Don’t judge those who are posting ‘normal’ things and every post isn’t about what’s happening. It may be their way of dealing with things…injecting a bit of normality into the horrendous images that they are continuously seeing. You may be consistently strong enough to see them but others may not be.

I was scrolling through Instagram last night. And my heart broke again….images of fathers holding their dead children, not wanting to let go. Young children buried in rubble holding onto each other in a vain attempt to protect each other from being crushed. I had to stop scrolling…but I couldn’t sleep as my thoughts were with them all.
One of the reasons I like toddler groups…you can One of the reasons I like toddler groups…you can do the messy play there 🙊

She wouldn’t touch the gloopy stuff first. Stuck to the dry powder and glitter. But eventually she was putting her hands in. It’s pretty cool…it smooths and hardens up a bit but once you handle it, goes runny!

Faith. Mine goes up and down a fair bit and recen Faith.

Mine goes up and down a fair bit and recently I have been struggling again. Even to the point where I was questioning why I’m even bothering to keep my hijab on.

And yet again it’s pretty low.

But seeing the trauma that our ummah is currently going through….seeing how much faith they have when their children are being blown to bits in front of them, whole families being wiped up, no access to the daily essentials such as water and electricity….it made me ask myself what am I complaining about. Why don’t I have this strong faith. They are still praying even with bombs going off around them.

I purchased this book back in the summer when all the bloggers who had received free copies were raving about it. But it then just ended up collecting dust in the bookcase like most of my other Islamic books.

I’ve dug it back out as I need to read a proper Sirah of the Prophet ﷺ as to this day I never have. And in sha Allah this may help me get back on track.
The guilt you feel getting on with things while ch The guilt you feel getting on with things while children in their thousands are being killed is unreal.

The images I’ve seen so far will continue to haunt me.

The fact that world leaders are letting war crimes be committed will continue to haunt me.

But at the same time we all have to continue with life and look after our children’s needs.

Minu had her 2 year check today and Alhamdulillah it went well.

I’ve had to listen to many comments the past 2 years. That she’s little, she’s not putting on weight…but the health visitors confirmed that height and weight wise she’s doing fine.

I wasn’t concerned anyway but it did give me that reassurance…as when you hear the same comments continuously it does sometimes make you doubt yourself.

I saw this on instagram some time ago…I can’t remember the account or I would tag them.

But it’s so simple and keeping her occupied. Great for hand eye coordination too! And the sense of achievement when she’s got them all!

AD gifted If you are looking for a fun and engag AD gifted

If you are looking for a fun and engaging way to help your children revise the Quran then Surah Journey from @quranplan is the must have board game to have.

The object of the game is to land on the finish space and claim the treasure as the winner.

The game is for ages 5+ and 2-4 players can play.

And it’s so simple to play. Instead of a dice you have number cards and once you land on a Surah name you need to recite the full surah (or the specified verses) without any mistakes.

There are 2 levels of play with one side of the board being a bit easier.

The game is definitely helpful for those memorising the Quran, but it can also help encourage children to learn more Surahs.

I must admit that my children have only learnt a few Surahs to recite during their salah, but the game can encourage them to listen to the Surahs (on the phone) and start learning them. Or if they haven’t memorised the Surahs yet you could perhaps even adapt the game yourself to ask them a question about the surah.

Definitely a beneficial addition to any household.

It was marbles and paint today. I look at her an It was marbles and paint today.

I look at her and think of the suffering going on at the moment. Children being bombed, babies in intensive care dying due to no electricity and my heart breaks.

And still the genocide goes on. World leaders doing nothing. And it’s because the majority of people are Muslim. I don’t care if you disagree. It’s clear Muslims are seen as nothing….no one cares about Islamophobia, no one cares about brown people and Muslims dying….why else are lots of people so quiet?

I look at my girls and I fear for what they may go through when I’m gone. And mainly because of their colour and religion. The world is just getting worse.
