I was actually planning to go to the Lake District I was actually planning to go to the Lake District this half term…hovered over the ‘book’ button a few times. But it’s like something stopped me….

And it’s a good job it did….mum is doing better but they aren’t sending her home just yet….so we wouldn’t have been able to go.

I was looking forward to doing things this half term….but Alhamdulillah.

Minu is enjoying herself with the hospital visits 🤦🏽‍♀️ and the other patients in the ward look forward to seeing her too! She waves bye to everyone every time we leave 🙊

Hope everyone has a good weekend…the weather isn’t looking too bad right now!
Totally understanding the ‘I’m so tired, even Totally understanding the ‘I’m so tired, even my tired is tired’ quote today! 🙊😴

Been a long day of rushing around and feel like every bone and muscle is aching. I just don’t have the stamina I used to have anymore 😳

Really need to start getting some proper exercise done on a regular basis I think!
‘A grandmothers love is forever and always.’ U ‘A grandmothers love is forever and always.’ Unknown

Being abroad I never had an extremely close relationship with my grandmother. But Alhamdulillah my girls are growing up around theirs. Minu was initially confused as to where we were when we got to the hospital, but then she joined her Nani on her bed and ate her strawberries. The nurses saw her on the bed but didn’t say anything, just smiled 🙊

May Allah (swt) bring mum home soon and allow her to see Minu grow up.

Its funny how strict they were with me, but the girls get away with so much more 🤦🏽‍♀️🙊 Always the way with grandparents isn’t it??
I’ll be honest, I’m not one for buying parenti I’ll be honest, I’m not one for buying parenting books or courses…it’s just not my thing. I just muddle along.

But I was sent this some time ago by @kubepublishing and today while the girls played in the garden I’ve managed to sit and read it.

What I like about it is that it’s not an overwhelming read as it only has about 100 pages. Which is why I was prepared to sit and read it.

‘Preparing for Life is a reminder to, particularly, Muslim parents about their unique and entrusted role in preparing their children for life with universal human and Islamic values.’

A lot of what I read, was to me, common sense. The importance of communication with the children, building understandings etc.

I often find parenting books can come across judgmental, telling you how to raise your children. This book covers the issues that our children are facing today and some practical tips on how to support your children and deal with the issues. And it also mentions how community institutions can also help…etc.

If you are looking for a light read with some practical tips for your parenting journey then this book is for you.

Was looking forward to this weekend. The weather Was looking forward to this weekend.

The weather is nice, there’s fun days and festivals happening so had planned to get out.

I forgot that as a mum I shouldn’t plan or really look forward to getting out. As something will go wrong or someone will get sick. 👏🏽

And that’s exactly what’s happened. Another weekend stuck at home I think. But Alhamdulillah we have a garden and Minu can play outside.

Hope everyone has a good weekend! Any plans?
Parenting, when other people constantly question y Parenting, when other people constantly question you.

WHY isn’t she sitting yet?
WHY isn’t she crawling yet?
WHY isn’t she standing yet?
WHY isn’t she walking yet?
WHY isn’t she talking yet?
WHY isn’t she potty trained yet?

WHY HASN’T SHE GOT A PHD YET?? 🙄

We need to learn to ignore others and trust ourselves as parents. Every child is different, every child is unique.

It’s not a developmental race.

(Obviously if there are genuine concerns then do seek help).

Being outdoors is so important and although I take Minu to a lot of groups, most of them are indoors.

To aid us getting out and exploring more we have just purchased a family @nationaltrust membership to make us a get out a bit more now the weather is improving!

It’s been a while since I last had membership so looking forward to revisiting the places we went to before!

We ventured out to a new outdoors group @westraven We ventured out to a new outdoors group @westravencommunitygarden called Little Wanderers. I had seen it advertised a few times but Thursdays didn’t suit us…plus I hate being outdoors in the cold 🫣

But we finally gave it a go and I’m glad we did. Minu was a bit overwhelmed at first but she soon got stuck in and started playing.

She loves going out and being outdoors so she absolutely loved it by the end of the session!

It is so important to get the kids outdoors and learn about nature etc and let them get messy too!

I was complaining that the husband is always worki I was complaining that the husband is always working at weekends and bank holidays and we do nothing now, so he decided to take today off and we headed to IKEA in Milton Keynes.

On the way back from @ikeauk we decided to drive to Luton and check out @lutontawahouse and try out their mix tawa.

We opted for their small tawa which was £38 and enough for 2-3 people.

It was enough for us as we aren’t huge eaters these days.

Bee loved the chicken wings but was disappointed there was only 2 🙊

The naans were really nice but personally I felt like the rice was old. And hubby felt like the lamb tikka was really chewy. The kebabs were nice though.

Hubby opted for spicy and I was concerned, but to be honest it wasn’t that spicy.

Service was quick (but we went when it only just opened and were the first ones there) and the waiters were polite.

Bee was disappointed that she didn’t get any dessert as they hadn’t opened the dessert yet and we weren’t prepared to wait as were told it would open at 4/5.

Would we go back again? Probably…as I want to try the Chapli kebabs and biryani.
Yes my garden is a mess right now. And no I don’ Yes my garden is a mess right now. And no I don’t care that this picture isn’t really insta worthy. It’s reality. And I’m all about being real.

2021 I didn’t do much in the garden as I was in my final trimester around this time and suffering from episodes of bleeding. And then in 2022 it was hard with a baby so I did the bare minimum. The husband gets bad hay fever and is always at work…so barely does anything when it comes to the garden.

This year I’m on a mission to sort it. But I’ve realised I just don’t have the same amount of energy I used to. I feel like this last pregnancy has really taken it out of me…both mentally and physically.

I just did some lawn edging yesterday and I was aching all over and so so tired. This morning Minu’s toddler bed arrived and it was simple to put together but even that tired me out. It’s ever since I pulled the ivy down I’ve felt exhausted with my shoulders aching.

Honestly I’m beginning to feel so old with random aches and pains 😳

And that’s not my cat. It’s a random one that decided to come along and see what’s happening 🙊
My dream is to one day have a huge garden with lot My dream is to one day have a huge garden with lots of flowers and features. That’s probably another dream that will never come true based on my previous track record.

I wish I could afford a proper gardener to come and landscape my garden properly. I’m a bit random in that I see a plant I like, buy it and just plant it wherever I have space or buy lots of pots.

Take this clematis for example. I never knew it would grow this much, to the point I could cover my whole fence if I wanted it to. But I love it. It doesn’t flower for long but when it does it looks stunning.

For the past two years my garden has been neglected. I’m now trying to get it looking decent again….but I just end up so exhausted after doing just a little bit. I’ve just been trying to sort out the lawn edging and feel like I’ve run a marathon.

This is going to take a while!!

Do you like gardening?
I’ve been popping onto instagram now and then to I’ve been popping onto instagram now and then to see what everyone’s been up to, but haven’t felt like posting much. Think my relationship with social media is dwindling…I don’t feel like sharing much anymore…….anyone else ever feel like that?

But in other news…I fear for my life with Minnie! 😂

She absolutely hates having flea and worm treatment put on the back of her neck. Rosie hated it but she would have never hurt me…Minnie on the other hand, hisses and growls menacingly and I think she would scratch me to death if I didn’t have her in a vice like grip. And then I get a death stare afterwards. She’s currently sulking and coming no where near me.

I think I might try the tablets next time and hide them in her food. I managed to hide her pain killers in her food so will give it a go with flea and worm tablets next time! 🤦🏽‍♀️

How’s everyone doing anyway? Hope you are all having a good bank holiday weekend!
