Asalaam Alaikum/Hi All
Summer holidays can end up being expensive. Especially if you are like me and hate to be stuck indoors. I am always out and about which my hubby finds amusing/annoying/frustrating. More often than not he finds it frustrating because he wants to rest on his day off and I am desperate to go out. That is when the nagging starts and cue my subtle coughing fit with the words ‘Old Man’ thrown in. (Aren’t I the lovely wife?!)
At the moment with it being Ramadan I am reluctant to go out much over the weekend because to put it simply, I am tired. However this weekend my niece came to stay so we checked the weather forecast and because it was not too warm my bro and I decided to take the kids to Wicksteed Park in Kettering. We usually go there every year as it is not too far from us and the kids love it.
I decided to see if I could find any vouchers for the park. I have loads of buy one get one free for places such as Chessington, Sea Life Centres etc but none for Wicksteed Park and to be honest, I wasn’t overly hopeful in finding any. I was pleasantly surprised when I did find some and I want to share the site with other mums who may not be aware of it.
So before you go on your days out check out this site: Lets Go with the Children
It gives you ideas of days out in your local area as well as having vouchers for some of the attractions.
I must admit I was a little bit wary of the voucher I printed out. It was a Buy one Get one Free on wristbands, so a saving of £16. The voucher didn’t look overly professional and because I had never come across the site before I wasn’t sure if the voucher was for real. But it was!!
My Silent Sunday post was of our day out. Here are some more pictures. Enjoy!
the pictures are great!
I feel bad for kids sometimes. Now that Ramadan is in Summer the parents are too tired after a long day of work to take the kids out. =/
Im glad you took the kids out though. 🙂 x
Thanks!
We weren't going to go at first but didn't want them to be stuck at home all through their summer holidays. InshAllah will do another day trip just before they go back to school.
Aww, very nice.
It is very expensive taking kids out, and I don't seem to be able to get my kids to really appreciate it.
Looks like you all had fun regardless of the fasting.
