Asalaam Alaikum/Hi all
I am sure most of you will have heard about the riots taking place in the UK at the moment. They started off in London and are spreading to other parts of the UK. I am guessing some of these rioters do not even know why they are rioting but are basically just jumping on the bandwagon to go out looting.
However my first real sadness at the riots was hearing of the first fatalities of these senseless riots.
Shahzad Ali, Abdul Musavir and Harron Jahan had left Taraweeh prayers at the mosque and were attempting to protect their city when they were brutally run over by a car.
It has been reported that Haroon’s father went to help not realising his son was one of those hurt. He tried to save him by performing CPR.
No parent should have to deal with the death of a child. I can only imagine his grief at this tragedy but I am humbled by his dignity and his response to the death of his young son by appealing for calm.We could all learn from him.
“I have lost my son – if you want to lose yours step forward, otherwise calm down and go home.”
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon. May Allah Subhana Wa Taala grant these 3 young men Jannah and grant the families the strength to deal with this difficult time. Ameen.
