Book Review and Giveaway: Red cat, Blue Cat

While I was in hospital, having munchkin number 2, munchkin number 1 was happy to receive ‘red cat blue cat’ to read from Blue Apple Books.
She is an avid reader and she loves cats (she is trying to convince her dad to get her a kitten) so the book was perfect for her and has become a favourite.
Red cat: nimble cat.
Blue cat: clever cat.


When they meet: jealous cats.

The book is about 2 cats who live in the same house, but on different floors. They do not get on at all. Cue the simple but effective illustrations showing the cat fights when they come across each other; ‘hiss’, ‘yee-ow’ and ‘scratch!’
Both cats are secretly wishing that they were like the other. They try everything they can to be like the other, from eating coloured food to painting themselves. But does trying to be something else make them happy? No!
What I love about this book is that it is something most children can relate to, wanting to be someone else. However it goes on to show that you should be happy with who you are and the story ends with the 2 cats becoming friends and happy with themselves.  Simply cute!
