Review: The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game

The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel Game from Learning Resources has already won some awards, so were happy to check it out; munchkin loves board games. The game is suitable for ages 3+ and with munchkin being almost 7, I did wonder if it may be a bit babyish for her. However, although it was easy for her, she loved playing it.
The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game is all about helping the squirrels forage for food for the winter. You have to collect the coloured acorns and match then to the coloured hole in your log. You have to spin the wheel and you either get to choose 1 acorn, 2 acorns, steal an acorn from another player, skip your turn or put all your acorn back into the tree. (The tree is the box).
Munchkin’s favourite part was of course using the squirrel to collect the acorns. She found it relatively easy to use but it is a great way of teaching younger children about hand-eye coordination when they play.
You can play the game with 2-4 players. I played the game with munchkin and it did end quite quickly; I ended up winning, as on her go she had to place her acorns back on the tree!!
The game can end very quickly if playing with only 2 players, but this is ideal for younger children who’s attention does tend to wander. Munchkin enjoyed it and she continued to play it alone as she just loved grabbing the acorns with the squirrel. Even Bee wanted to join in on the fun!
If you like the look of the game you can enter to win one on the Learning Resources Facebook page. The competition ends on 30th April 2013.
