Our holiday to Alanya Turkey

So we finally got a family holiday, which didn’t involve going to Pakistan. It involved Alanya Turkey!

And we desperately needed it.

And I want to go back!!!

Beautiful weather, friendly people, and most importantly…..NO COOKING AND CLEANING FOR A WHOLE WEEK.

Now I have taken around 500 photos but I won’t bore you all to death on here with them all….if you follow me on Instagram you can see a selection there too.

We stayed at Bera hotel in Alanya. The hotel is classed as ‘halal’ and muslim friendly in that there is no alcohol there, all food is halal and modest dress is required. There are separate pools and spas for men and women but the beach is mixed at this hotel. However, if as a Muslim you don’t want to listen to music, then this isn’t the place for you as they do play music at the pools and there is entertainment in the evening which includes a mini disco for the kids during the summer season.

The hotel is classed as a 5 star hotel….having never stayed at a 5 star hotel I have nothing to compare it with. However the service was great, although it did seem like there could be some work done around the place as noticed rust and cracks in various areas. I was also slightly disappointed as maintenance work was meant to have ended by the time we arrived but it was still ongoing. However we didn’t let that spoil our enjoyment. The surrounding hotels were all shut so it felt like we had our own peaceful space in paradise.

And the views from our room were relaxing. I particularly liked seeing these houses at night when the street lights were on. We had our own private balcony so it was lovely to sit there in the evening. As the other hotels were not open it was very quiet and peaceful.

Although I was slightly gutted that we were so far away from Istanbul as I wanted to see the Blue Mosque, there are still plenty of excursions available. There is a tour operater in the hotel although there are plenty outside with whom you may get a better deal. We stuck with the one in the hotel as it meant we should only be going with fellow hotel guests.

We had to pick the excursions we could do as a family, although hubby went off quad biking on his own. We saw a dolphin show, went on a boat trip and went on a tour around the city of Alanya seeing a few places of interest.

And when we weren’t going on any excursions it was all about fun on the beach and having fun in the hotel.
