Paid Partnership with Sanctuary Spa
It is that time of the year again when schools are preparing for the end of the school year with sports days and ‘move up’ days. In fact Bee has her move up day this week to Year 2 and we will be finding out who her teacher for Year 2 is. Although it sounds cliched, it does feel like only yesterday that she started in reception.
It is also that time of the year to think about gifts for the teachers. As a child I must admit that I don’t remember giving gifts to the teachers; it just wasn’t something that was done. However, it is a nice gesture. Teachers work so hard and sometimes their hard work goes unappreciated. As a parent governor who now has access to ‘behind the scenes’, I have seen how hard the headteacher and the staff work in attempting to meet the expected standards but more importantly, care and look after our children.
Even this week I walked into a meeting and saw a sign on the headteachers window aimed at the wellbeing of the Year 2 children who will be changing school in September. They are able to write down if they are anxious of changing school and come in and talk to someone about it.
The staff are always approachable and when there have been minor issues with Bee they have been dealt with promptly. For example when there was a change in her teacher, Bee started complaining of tummy aches most morning. I eventually clicked that she was anxious about going to school. I spoke to the teacher who then started praising her a bit more and reassuring her and the tummy aches vanished.
With such a good experience, Bee loves all her teachers and every year wants to give gifts. So I am always on the hunt for gifts that will be appreciated.
I recently starting buying Sanctuary Spa products for myself as a treat as I adore the scent and the products felt luxurious. So I was pleased to see that they offered some gift sets that would be ideal as teacher gifts.

Who doesn’t like hand lotion right?
I wish your daughter was in your class! Those gifts look awesome. My son has three teachers and got them Starbucks gift cards.
Oh Starbucks gift cards are a good idea too!
This is a lovely post, I was a part-time teacher and I can tell you it’s hard work! Giving gifts is a lovely gesture to show your appreciation for all their hard-work, patience, kindness and more, I think also if gifts are personal it really makes a huge difference. Also as Muslims we need to remember Islam teachers us to always respect and be kind to our teachers, this is another way to teach your child how to be kind and appreciative to others.
Very true…it does teach the kids to be kind
These look so good as a gift and even something I could buy for myself. The boxes look so good too!

Yes I would buy them for myself too!
Nice gesture and overly gift idea. I wish I would have across this post earlier so that even j could thank my son’s teacher. And my son just finished reception and is the same age as Bee I think.
Bee is finishing Year 1 this year
Thats such a lovely gesture! I never did that growing up as well it wasn’t common. But I think its lovely to remember them with something. PBUH said (Giving gifts to each other is a declaration of your love for each other) تهادو تحابو.
side note : funny how two words in Arabic is translated in to a much longer sentence.
It was never really common when I was at school either as I don’t remember ever giving my teachers a gift…but it is a lovely gesture.
This will make a great gift. I usually gift pens or organic tea bags along with handmade drawings or small crafts done by my daughter. Thank you for sharing this…
Handmade gifts are so much more personal! I think next year we may do that
My kids are not school age yet. But I surely like the idea of gifting teachers, I used to give gifts to my teachers. And as a teacher in past, for sure I would have also liked to be pampered 😉
Back when I was younger noone used to give the teachers gifts from what I can remember! But it is a lovely idea
