Day 48 – Sunday 17th February
A relatively quiet day today. Still coughing a bit but not as much as before. Decided to rest up today to give me some energy for the rest of half term. Just went out for the eldest’s horse riding lesson and then watched some films in the afternoon.
Day 49 – Monday 18th February
Decided to take the girls to the local museum as they had a science event going on. Treated the girls to lunch, did a bit of shopping and then popped into Lush on the way back to the car park as they were having an event making a bath product…was some kind of bath soap I think. All I know is that it smells strong and has loads of glitter!
Day 50 – Tuesday 19th February
Took the girls to the cinema to watch How To Train A Dragon. The eldest is a fan of the series and she asked to go see it…she hardly ever asks for anything so I rarely say no to her (within reason!) I still wasn’t feeling 100% but at least at the cinema just had to sit there for 2 hours and do nothing else! The sun was out and Bee was loving it and climbing over everything!
Day 51 – Wednesday 20th February
Still coughing a bit but went to my Quran class in the morning as missed it last week. However couldn’t have a double lesson as speaking more and reciting the quran made me cough even more, so just managed an hours lesson. Hubby had taken the day off work so got my parents and went to Leicester to eat and then dad treated me and the eldest to a couple of outfits.
Day 52 – Thursday 21st February
Beginning to feel really tired as been out and about all week but I had organised a Muslimah Bloggers meet up in London so had to go. However a few cancelled beforehand and in the end it ended up with 4 bloggers and our kids. I have now decided not to organise another meet up in another city (I run the community) as it takes 2 hours to get there and its not worth my time and effort for an hour lunch and then everyone rushes off as they have things to do. It is not fair on my husband either as he ends up taking a day off work to drive us (even though I can drive myself!) Went to Big Moe’s Diner in the London Designer Outlet at Wembley…didn’t think the food was all that to be honest but did treat myself to a dessert after a long time…and then couldn’t finish the ice cream!
Day 53 – Friday 22nd February
Tired from all the recent travelling but had to get the eldest to the orthodontist at 9.20am. Treatment plan is now in place…she will be on removable braces for around 18 months. Once that stage is over they will see if they need to remove any of the teeth. Then she will be on fixed braces for around 2 years. After that she will have to wear a retainer for 3-4 months all the time….and then evenings/night for the rest of her life. I never knew that about retainers. Her next appointment to get the braces fitted is in 3 weeks!
After her appointment I took her for a private horse riding lesson. Ever since she has started at this stables I haven’t got any pictures of her. They did say they could take some of her if I give them a camera but I wanted to do it myself…which meant paying for a private lesson as I couldn’t go when she is in the group lesson.
Day 54 – Saturday 23rd February
I have decided we are going to have a quiet weekend before they go back to school on Monday. Once the karate lesson for Bee and Urdu class for the eldest were over and done with we did a spot of gardening. The grass was quite big so dealt with that, and then cut back some of the bigger bushes and plants. Still a lot to do but it was a start. Can’t wait to go plant shopping soon and get my pots sorted.
Lovely photos!
My girls love Lush! The smellier and sparkly the better!
My youngest & fella went to see the Dragons film on Friday and they loved it. I hope your girl did too.
The food looks so tasty!
Good luck to your eldest with her braces.

Yes we loved the film, one of the few kids ones I actually enjoyed too!
It’s taken you so long to shake this illness! Hope you are finally feeling better now. Beautiful photo of your eldest riding. I don’t blame you for not wanting to organise any more events in London. I must say we do like the London Designer Outlet! We’ve stayed at a hotel in Wembley a few times.

Yes the designer outlet was pretty good…will have to go back again when I have a bit more money to spend!
I loved the photo of your daughter riding on IG. Such a shame about the group meeting especially as you’d travelled so far #365
It is one of my favourites…don’t often get pictures of her and smiling as she hates having her photo taken
We need to spend some time on our garden too. Sorry to hear you are still not yourself, despite that it sounds like you got up to a lot over half term. I am super impressed that you arranged a blogger meet up. It must take a lot of organising and sorry to hear not everyone turned up. Love the picture of your daughter horse riding.
I was determined to get stuff done over the half term as I am usually sick every February half term!
Hope you get better soon. Sorry that the blogging event didn’t go as planned, with fewer people attending.
The soap making sounds fun, though I’m not a fan of glitter in bath products.
We also watched How to train your dragon 3, and enjoyed it.
The dental plan for your daughter sounds like hard work. I didn’t know that about the retainers for the rest of one’s life.
Love the horse-riding photos.
The chocolate cake looks so rich and lush.
No must admit I am not a fan of glitter either. It is the first time I have heard about the retainers too!
I don’t blame you for not organising another event if that is all that turns up, 2 hrs and travel costs is a bit much.
Glad you are feeling some what better and the pictures afternoon sounds a good compromise.
Wednesdays meal looks lovely.
Yep it is a bit much…hubby was tired after a long week, so was I but made myself go even if it was just 2-3 others turning up as I had organised it.
Alhamdulillah you’re on the road to recovery and massive apologies I couldn’t make it, totally gutted but since I could barely see due to cold and cough as my dentist said, in the nicest way possible, we don’t want your germs!
That is crazy about braces, kind of glad I never had them now but why would they need to remove a tooth?!
Can’t help being sick so no need to apologise.
I had to have 4 teeth removed when I had braces. Was really traumatising as they did them all in one go. I guess if they push them back then your mouth space can end up small for that amount of teeth
Sorry to read that you are poorly. Sounds like your daughter is thoroughly enjoying riding the horses down at the stables. #365
She certainly does love it
Aww the horses are so beautiful. I do miss horse riding. Sounds like a fun week and the weather has been amazing. That food though, delicious xx #365
Yes it has been a pretty good week
Glad you are on the mend. The braces process seems very lengthy. I hope we avoid that.

Yes lengthy but will be worth it in the end!
I love Lush but am not a fan of glitter! I have never been horse riding but would like to take my children along to try it one day #project365
Oh you should! They will love it
