Review: Ayat al Kursi Night Light from Noor Al-Ilm

They Ayat al Kursi, also known as the Verse of the Throne is one that we should all know and hasten to teach our children. There are many benefits of the Ayat al Kursi and our children should be taught to get into the habit of reciting it as it is a form of protection. Especially before bed, as it is said that if you recite it before you go to sleep then Allah (swt) will send an angel to protect you.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Prophet Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasallam ordered me to guard the Zakat revenue of Ramadan. Then somebody came to me and started stealing of the foodstuff. I caught him and said, “I will take you to Allah’s Apostle!” Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and said: That person said (to me), “Please don’t take me to Allah’s Apostle and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you. When you go to your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn.” When the Prophet heard the story he said (to me), “He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar; and it was Satan.”

Therefore it is the perfect verse to be on a night light to help, especially the younger ones, to listen to it and in turn aid in memorising it.

The Night Light

The night light operates via USB cable and you can charge it up. Once ready to use it has many features.

The base of the night light allows you to switch the light on and off and also move backwards and forwards through the surahs.

However it is the remote that allows you to do so much more.

7 Colour LED’s

You can simply have the recitation or you can add the lights to also come on. You can choose to have one colour remain static. Alternatively you can set the night light so the colours switch automatically..this can also be changed for the lights to fade gently before moving onto the next colour.

Brightness

If you are finding that the lights are too bright or too dim for you, you can change the brightness.

Volume

The remote also allows you to to adjust the sound. The sound does travel well if the house is quiet so you may want it a lower volume especially if the children are listening to help get them to sleep.

Timer

There is a timer to allow you to set a time for when the light to switch itself off.

Bluetooth

The Night Light can also be used as a bluetooth device. If there is something else you would like your child to listen to you can connect your phone via bluetooth to play it through the night light.

Dua booklet

A lovely addition to the night light is the dua booklet. It explains the benefits and virtues of the Ayat al Kursi and also has all the other surahs that are on the SD card with explanations.

What did we think?

The night light is in Bee’s room and she loves it. She loves the ability to be able to set the volume, colour and brightness herself via the remote control. As a result it is used pretty much every night. She already listens to the quran before going to sleep and now this specifically recites the ayat al kursi for her and also brings some colour to the room. The sound is clear and fairly loud at its highest setting.

It would make an ideal gift for the children!
