Sunday Day 152 – 31st May

Cheating a bit with today’s photo as it was actually taken yesterday…but I forgot to take any pictures today as we didn’t do much! We have decided to take part in the 30DaysWild challenge by the Wildlife Trusts and yesterday downloaded the pack. Ordered some wildflower seeds today as one of the challenges is to grow some.
Monday Day 153 – 1st June

Bit of gardening today. The wildflower seeds we ordered are due to arrive tomorrow so we started preparing a corner at the back of the garden that was a bit messy. We tidied it up and levelled it up ready for the seeds.
Tuesday Day 154 – 2nd June

Decided to start painting the fence before the rain that is forecast for the rest of the week hits. I couldn’t decide whether to cut down the clematis to paint behind it. Part of the trellis had snapped which meant I had had to cut it back a bit anyway….but then I didn’t want to cut it back as it took 2 years to get it to this size…so decided to paint around it. Also planted the wildflower seeds. The pack did say to either plant them in spring or autumn so will have to see if we get any flowers.
Also got a message from the doctors surgery to phone them after my diabetic review and blood test last week. Have a feeling my levels are high as I haven’t been looking after myself recently and Ramadan gets my levels out of whack too. Avoided calling them to be honest.
Wednesday Day 155 – 3rd June

Eldest turned 14 today! She didn’t ask for much for her birthday, except a keyring, a chocolate cake and chocolate. I had organised a chocolate hamper from a small company and they even messaged me in the morning asking when I wanted to collect and that they would message me their bank details so I could pay prior to collecting. Then no contact at all. I was so annoyed as if they had just been honest I could have organised something else.
Finally phoned the doctors as got another message to call them. They want to put me on diabetes meds as my sugar levels are a little bit higher than they would like. My own fault really. Went and collected the meds to start tomorrow.
Thursday Day 156 – 4th June

Another quiet day to be honest. Chilling at home in the morning and then Bee’s 1-1 karate lesson in the afternoon.
Friday Day 157 – 5th June

My birthday today! Didn’t do much…and stopped hubby getting me a cake due to having to go on diabetes meds. But agreed to a takeaway and a burger in the evening. We attempted to decorate nature inspired cake pops today for the 30DaysWild challenge. We aren’t very good at the whole decorating thing!
Saturday Day 158 – 6th June

In a bit of a tired and grumpy mood today. So pretty much spent all day watching TV and not much else. Rosie was also joining us in being lazy again.
The cake pops looked great – I’m the same, I can bake cakes, but icing and decorations aren’t really my thing. Hope the meds get your levels under control again. So hard when there’s swet stuff around isn’t it.
Yep I have no will power when there is sweet stuff around!
Sorry to hear about the medication – it must have been hard to say no to the cake. The garden is looking lovely – hope you have some success with the wildflower seeds.

Thank you…hope so too or Bee will be disappointed if none grow!
Have fun with the 30 Days Wild Challenge. It sounds like fun. It looks like you have been busy in the garden.
Happy birthday to your eldest.
The cake pops look fab! x

Thank you! It is nice to work in the garden
Happy birthday to the eldest and you! Her cake looks amazing. I would have been so cross about the chocolate delivery too. What a disappointment! Sorry to hear you’ve got to go on the diabetes medication. I hope it isn’t for too long. Good luck with wildflower seeds.

I just need to be careful and stop eating cake!
Oh dear about the new meds, but at least you know the cause of the problem and can do something about it to reverse the diabetes. I looked at joining #30daysWild, but it’s geared more for younger children or supporting the older generation, a lot of paper to print out also

We only printed out about 4 pages which had a list of some things we could do.
The cake pops looked great. We had some a few weeks ago. I hope the meds get your levels under control again. So hard when there’s sweet stuff around. I have such a sweet tooth x
Yes I have such a bad sweet tooth and it does make it hard!
my husband sleeps a lot and is a very grumpy b****** when his sugar levels are off.
Happy belated birthday to you both. Very annoying to be let down for a child’s birthday present.
I make nice cakes but let them down with my lack of artistic talent.

have been quite grumpy this week..think it might be the meds
Wildlife Trust looks like an interesting activity. Don’t ignore calls for your health; it’s for your own good. OMG CHOCOLATE!!! Happy birthday to your daughter and you! May you both have many more and stay blessed always.

Thank you for the birthday wishes!
I think those cake pops are awesome and beautifully decorated! Totally inkeeping with the whole ‘wild’ theme too!
That’s a pain about the diabetes meds and hope you can get your levels sorted easily. If you haven’t already, check out Keto, it is medically backed for controlling diabetes!
Your eldest daughter sounds like a girl after my own heart… not asking for much besides chocolate! 🙂 I think a lot of companies are struggling under the weight of everything at the moment. Next week will be very interesting indeed! Hope you have all had a lovely week! Sim x

Thank you, will check out Keto!
How frustrating about the chocolate hamper, but glad she had a good birthday nonetheless. Hope you get your meds sorted
Yes it was pretty frustrating
We’re taking part in 30 Days Wild too and enjoying it – it’s our fourth year taking part. Hope your wildflower seeds do well. That chocolate hamper looks amazing. Hope that you and your eldest both had nice birthdays. I love the nature-inspired cake pops. Fingers crossed that the new meds help bring your sugar levels back down again. #project366
Thank you. The wildflower seeds already seem to be growing!
Hope that the meds are helping with your diabetes. Hope your eldest had a good birthday that cake looks amazing. I have never tried to make cake pops before they look good. I love wild flowers can’t wait to see your corner in bloom.

They do seem to be helping already thanks!
The 30 day challenge sounds fun. Fingers crossed, your wild seeds produce some lovely wild flowers. Your roses in the garden are beautiful. Sorry to hear about the sugar levels. Not easy to resist chocolate and cake, when it’s your birthday. And happy belated birthday to you!
The wild seeds already seem to be growing!
The cake pops look fab! It sounds fun doing this 30dayswild challenge! I think we eat too much sugary treats too, but I am not quite ready to give up cake just yet! Hope you had a fab birthday! x
It is hard giving up cake!
