Baking with Children with a Nadiya Hussain Baking Set

There has been a lot of baking going on recently in our house. Mainly cakes and cupcakes! It is a fun activity to do with the girls and usually has a tasty ending to it! As Bee is beginning to enjoy baking, she was overjoyed to receive her own Nadiya baking set.

We love watching Great British Bake off and were rooting for Nadiya Hussain when she took part in the series. Now she has created a range of baking sets for children.

When asked why she wanted to create a baking set just for children Nadiya says ‘I love the colours and the easy to use and clean utensils.  Everything is designed to be multi purpose and safe,  kids can cook like an adult .  These new baking sets are all about giving kids confidence to say this is MY stuff, I CAN cook and I CAN bake.’

What did we think?

The Deluxe Baking Set has all the tools included to help the kids get into baking and enjoy baking. The set itself is colourful and good quality…and the best bit is that it is dishwasher safe and the silicone is tested to LFGB food safety standards. What we also liked was that the cookie cutters had silicone added to the metal which makes it easier for little hands to handle and push down on the dough to make their shapes.

Bee loved the apron and that it had pockets. She put all her utensils in the pocket ready to get out when needed and felt like a proper little chef!

It is so easy to just bake the same recipes that you are used to baking, so we were pleased to see that 6 recipes were also included. All the recipes were unique to us and we hadn’t tried the before. So far we have tried out two of them: Star Anise Gingerbread Men and Cookie Mallows.

The other recipes included are: Very berry breakfast muffins, Pastry Roses, Zebra Cake and Rock Cake.

The recipes were easy to follow and the results were good! We did have a bit of a mess with melting the marshmallows for the cookie mallows but it was all a learning experience!

The Deluxe Baking Set isn’t the only set that is available. Other styles are Savoury and Simple and each set includes recipe cards.

The Savoury Set five includes 5 recipes, a spoon, measuring spoons, a chopping board, mixing bowl, apron and a safety knife and fish slice. While the Simple Set includes a rolling pin, whisk, spatula, three cookie cutters, six silicone cup case cases and 3 recipes.
