With the summer holidays fast approaching I am on the lookout for fun games which will get the girls out into the garden rather than staying indoors on their electronics. The Jaques of London Tin Can Alley set is a simple yet fun game thats suitable for all ages and is sure to appeal to the whole family.

Whats in the box?

  • 10 real tin cans (Maximum Measurements of 10cm High x 6.5cm Diameter)
  • 3 beanbags (Approximately 10cm x 10cm)

How to play

The aim of the game is to knock over as many tin cans as you can with 3 throws.

Tin Can Alley is a traditional game and the rules are simple. Once you have stacked the tins, each player gets 3 throws. Draw a line in the ground, a stick is ideal if you have one, or even string and then start throwing the bean bags!

Each tin that falls is a point and the person with the most point wins. What is great about the game is that you can even make up your own rules; play as teams, allow younger children to stand closer when the throw the bean bags, add penalty system for the exceptionally good players.

We used a small table to stack the cans but you can also use a wall if you have one.

Benefits of playing outdoors

There are so many benefits of being outdoors! Fresh air, getting some of that vital Vitamin D if the sun appears, and of course resting your eyes from screens. Tin Can Alley game is also ideal as the game itself has many benefits such as improving hand eye coordination and throwing skills. I was quite impressed to see Bee got almost all the tins down in our instagram reel….may have to move her back a bit in future!

The game is definitely fun for all the family and I am sure little Minu will also enjoy it when she is older and walking! If you like the look of the game then it is available from Jaques of London. These also make a great gift as they are packaged beautifully with ribbon around the box.
