Week 45 – 5 November to 11 November 2023
Usual school and life routine.
Day 310 – Sunday
A quiet day at home. We had received some glitter tattoos to review and finally used them today. No pictures but you can watch our reel on instagram.
Day 311 – Monday
Headed to the park with friends. It was the first time going to this one and it was nice. Thankfully it wasn’t as cold as I was expecting it to be.
Day 312 – Tuesday
Minu’s 2 year check today and we had to go to the local childrens centre to meet the Health Visitor. As soon as we arrived she headed off to play and the HV could see she was sociable and confident. She did her height and weight and all was fine (so she isn’t little and not putting on weight like some people kept feeling the need to tell me!) Then headed to rhyme time at the local library for 30 minutes of singing. Minu loved it and joined in even though it was her first time attending.
Day 313 – Wednesday
Our usual toddler group today. The weather was miserable but was nice to get out to play.
Day 314 – Thursday
Minu’s feet are fairly narrow and Clarks struggled to find boots that would fit her. So today we headed to a local shop that was recommended. The shoes there are not cheap but at this age I always spend more to ensure a correct fit as I feel its vital for their growing feet. We tried on a few and eventually went with these ones which I felt would go with a variety of different colour outfits. But £52! I don’t even spend that much on shoes for myself!
Day 315 – Friday
A quiet Friday. Was going to take Minu to toddler group but then couldn’t be bothered. Chilled at home. No pictures. Bee had been picked alongside her friend from the whole of Year 6, to read a poem at a special remembrance assembly in the secondary school and they had it on YouTube live. Watched that and was so proud of her standing up in front of so many and reading it out. Later got an email from her headteacher to say how proud she was of her.
Day 316 – Saturday
Usual Saturday of Bee at karate and I do the washing/cooking while she is gone. Headed to pick her up and stopped at the shops before it was time to collect her… as the eldest wanted to go shopping for Boots but she didn’t find any she liked (later found some online). Popped into the Works and eldest got some books while Minu got some play dough.
I had really wanted to join the march in London but decided against it with a toddler, it would be too much for her.
It’s nice to get out to the park at this time of year, especially with all the rainy day’s we’ve been having.
I’m glad Minu’s 2 year check went well and those boots are gorgeous but eek at the price. x

The price is crazy!
Well done Bee on her reading. I remember doing similar when I was leavning primary school. I always agree with you on the shoe thing. So important to make sure young children’s hoes fit well. Luckily we have a children’s shoe shop near us. But yes, so expensive.
The prices are crazy!
Glad her two year check went well, those boots are adorable and yes, I wince at the price of kids shoes
It is ridiculous!
oh why do people have to pass comment about kids development? it drives me mad, you know your own child, glad the HV put your mind at rest. £52 for a pair of kids boots? they are cute though.
Yep drives me mad too!
Glad all went well with Minu’s 2-year check. Her new boots are lovely but ouch to that price tag! I’m the same with the kid’s shoes though – it’s so important that they fit well. Well done to Bee on reading the poem at the Remembrance Day assembly and lovely that you were able to watch the live-stream. #project365
